Food Fiesta

The students of Grade 8-11 organized the most awaited event of the year ‘ Food Fiesta’ on 11th January 2019. They surprised the juniors, staff and management with their creative culinary skills. The students enjoyed the finger licking food and thanked their seniors for serving the food of different countries.

Christmas Celebrations

The most awaited festival of joy- Christmas- was celebrated with great fun and frolic by the students of Grades 1-5 on 22nd December.

The entire school was vibrated with the echoes of the carols. The tiny tots enjoyed dancing on their favorite Christmas songs. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was amply visible on the faces of the children especially when Santa moved around. The students also shared gifts with their friends and learnt the joy of giving and sharing.

Inter- House English Handwriting Competition 2018-19

To emphasize on the importance of good handwriting, Cambridge Wing organized an Inter – House English handwriting competition on 23rd November 2018 for the students of Grades 3 to A Level. Every student was encouraged to participate and present their best handwriting.

The competition was organized in the respective classrooms. The zeal and enthusiasm displayed by the students to perfect their handwriting and win the competition was overwhelming. The competition was judged on the basis of specific criteria like neatness, formation, spacing and clarity. It was a closely contested competition and was challenging for the teachers to adjudge the winners. Three best handwritings were selected from each class by a panel of teachers.

Inter- House Fancy Dress Competition

Scholastic and co-scholastic activities are equally important for the all-round development of the child. Keeping this in view, Cambridge wing conducted the Fancy Dress Competition for the students of Grade 1  to 5 on 21st November 2018. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience.

Children came dressed up in their colourful costumes and spoke about the character they depicted. The effort and hard work of children and the parents were highly commendable.

Three winners from each class were selected and got I, II and III Prize respectively. The competition proved to be great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents

Winners of The Queen’s Essay Competition 2018

The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition is the world’s oldest schools’ international writing program, run by The Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883. Every year, the competition receives entries from thousands of young people across the Commonwealth and the students from our school also take part in this highly prestigious competition.

The English department of Cambridge wing @ KHGS is delighted to share the great achievements of this year’s entrants in ‘The Queen’s Essay Competition’.

Children’s Day Celebration : (2018-19)

To celebrate the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, the teachers of Kennedy High the Global School organized a special assembly on 14th November 2018.

The teachers presented various songs and group dances. The students were very excited, and they applauded each performance with great enthusiasm.  The Chairman and The Principal addressed the students and encouraged them to imbibe the good values and discipline as they are the future of our country.

Inter-School Cambridge Cultural Community Fest : 


The students of Cambridge Wing @ KHGS participated in Inter-School Cambridge Cultural Community Fest organized by Ambitus World School on 2nd November 2018.

We are proud to announce that our students won in various categories. The results are:

  • 1st position in Craft Competition was secured by Shreya             ( Grade 9) and Pahal ( Grade 5) )
  • 2nd position in Folk Dance category was bagged by  Abhiram B., Aryan, Sankeerth, Swayam, Divit, Om, Laasya, Shrishri, Netra, Poshita, Risha, Harshita, Akshaya, Sneha of Grade 6 & 7
  • 3rd position in Art was won by Varshit of Grade 7.

India’s International Movement to United Nations (IIMUN) : (2018-19)

India’s International Movement to United Nations (IIMUN) is a movement to implement IIMUN Actionable Goal taking cognizance of the Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations.

It aims to galvanize the youth to start taking an initiative in combating problems on an individual level, thereby moving from a mundane classroom discussion and bringing tangible change in an honest attempt to make a borderless world.

This is where the “Crème de la crème’ meet.

Our students participated on the Hyderabad Chapters of IIMUN on 27th to 29th July.

We were elated when the students of Kennedy High the Global School bagged the 3rd position among several esteemed schools of Hyderabad. Our students were then invited to the championship conference held at the Retreat Grant at Mumbai.

There, among 500 schools and more than 5000 students, they got a privilege to meet dignitaries and diplomats, apart from meeting students from all over India and abroad. The conference was held on 10t to 13th August. Here, many students of our school won the ‘Best Delegate Award’ and also bagged 8 medals.

This was the experience of a lifetie that every Kennedian will cherish.

Halloween Celebrations Grade 5 to 7 : (2018-19)

A Special assembly was conducted by the students of Grade 6 B on the eve of Halloween’s day (31st October 2018).  They  presented a skit explaining the history of Halloween and how it evolved gradually to the modern day’s culture of pumpkin carving, trick or treat – thanks to the migration of people across the world and globalization.

They also presented a small skit on why people ‘Trick or treat’ during Halloween and a subtle message was conveyed that young children should not be scared by tricking them.

The students participated with lots of enthusiasm and vigor and looked wonderful in their Halloween’s costumes.

Halloween Celebrations Grade 1 to 4 : (2018-19)

The students of Grades 1 and 4 celebrated Halloween on 31st October with great fun and energy. They were dressed up in scary costumes.

It was celebrated to overcome the fear and encourage bravery. All the students enjoyed the assembly thoroughly.

An Inter-House English Debate Competition : (2018-19)

Each House team was presented by 4 participants- where they have one introductory speaker, two propositional speakers and one concluding speaker. One team spoke in favor of the motion, while the other opposed it. The students spoke eloquently on the topics and impressed with their thoughtful insights.

The highlight of the event was the rebuttal round, where each participant questioned a view presented by the opposing team. Each team defended their argument vigorously which displayed the speed and depth of their thoughts.

The judges had difficult time to choose the winners and they applauded the students for their great oratory skills. The competition was an enthralling experience for the speakers as well as the audience.

Showing Seeds Activity : (2018-19)

The students of grade1 sowed seeds and watered their pots every morning. The happiness on their face when the seeds sprouted was worth a click.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration : (2018-19)

Students of Grade 1A (CAIE) hosted a celebration on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018. The presentation began with a Ganesh vandana “Gananayakaya” to invoke the blessings of Mangalmoorti Ganesha, followed by a short informative skit by which, children displayed eco-friendly ways of celebrating this festival.

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration : (2018-19)

The students of Grades 3 & 4 celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi with great flavor on 11th October 2018. The students enacted the story of little Ganesha during the assembly and even had a dance performance in reverence for the deity. The skit and the dance performance were a joy to watch and the students performed well.

अखिल भारतीय राष्ट्र भाषा परीक्षा – 2018)

केनेडी –हाई –द –ग्लोबल स्कूल ( Cambridge wing ) में 30 जुलाई 2018 मेँ महात्मा गाँधी  राष्ट्रभाषा हिंदी प्रचार संस्था के द्वारा आयोजित की गई अखिल भारतीय राष्ट्रभाषा परीक्षा मेँ कक्षा 1 से लेकर 10 वीं कक्षा के छात्रों ने भाग लिया। यह परीक्षार्थियों के लिए ज्ञानवर्धक होने के साथ​-साथ अत्यधिक रुचिकर थी। सभी छात्रों ने राष्ट्रभाषा परीक्षा मेँ भाग लेकर न सिर्फ  प्रसन्नता का अनुभव किया अपितु  हिंदी माध्यम में ज्ञान-विज्ञान के प्रस्नों के उत्तर देने का अनूठा अवसर भी प्राप्त किया l

English Workshop was conducted on 8th September’ 2018 for all English Language Teachers (CBSE & CAIE), by Mr. John D’Souza from The English Advantage, Mumbai.

The students of Cambridge wing celebrated the Teachers’ Day with full zeal and enthusiasm on 5th September 2018.

Dialogue Writing Activity  : Grade 3 (2018-19)

The dialogue writing activity was conducted for the students of Grade 3 in the month of August.

‘Cambridge Academic Awards Ceremony’ : (2018-19)

A Special  ‘Cambridge Academic Awards Ceremony’ was conducted on 11th July  2018 to felicitate  the high achievers of 2017-18.​

Inter- School English Literary Fest : (2018-19)

Students of Cambridge wing participated in Inter- School English literary fest called Talen Time @ Suchitra Academy on 10th July 2018 and three students (Divit from Grade 7 B; Shrishti Roy from Grade 6 A and Abhiyah From Grade 5 B) bagged second prize in ‘Spin A Yarn ‘ Story telling Competition. Congratulations to the winners!

Van Mahotsav : (2018-19)

The students of Grade 11, CAIE Wing, arranged an awareness campaign for the general public ’ Plant a Tree, Plant a Hope’ on 9th July  2018. The students donated saplings to the passers-by on Bachupally Road and discussed about the importance of the tress.

Save Trees : (2018-19)

‘Save Trees”- an awareness rally was conducted by the tiny tots of Grades 1 & 2 on 13th June  2018.

Fresher’s Party : Grade 1 & 2  (2018-19)

The Fresher’s party was organised for the students of Grade 1 & 2 on 22nd June 2018. Kadar Sai and Ms. Suhani from Grade 1 and Mr. Ashutosh and Ms. Bhavya  from Grade 2 were shortlisted as Mr. and Ms. Fresher.

Activity name : Anti Fire Cracker Documentary (2017-18)

CIE wing took the initiative to raise awareness among students against the harmful effect of fireworks on the environment and thus on our health. Anti Fire Cracker Documentary was presented by Grade 10 students on 16th October to spread awareness among students about the harmful effects of burning crackers.

Activity name :  Trip to Birla Planetarium (2017-18)

On 15th November, the students of Grade 1 to 8 of CIE wing were taken to an educational trip to

Birla Planetarium.

Activity name :  Food Fest (2017-18)

On 14th November, students of Grade 1 to 10 from CIE wing  organized a fund-raising initiative, called ‘Food Fest’ which was inaugurated by the Chairman Shri. S. Jamala Reddy.

This has inculcated strong values in our young children – values like being kind to the less fortunate, and has also built a sense of belonging and giving back to their community.

Activity name :  Maths fraction activity (2017-18)

The students of Grade 3 used special butterfly kit designed for Maths Fraction activity as the extended activity after completing Fraction chapter in the class on 7th November.

The students used ‘Fraction Strips’ to do different calculations to understand fraction as some part of the whole.  They learnt to identify fractions in different shapes and understood how to compare fractions

This kit helped to motivate children and improve their critical thinking skills, perseverance, attention span and appreciation of the math that lies around them.

Science Class Activity: Electrical Conductor or Insulators?


This activity was designed for 5th Grades in the month of November to predict experiment and observe whether materials are insulators and conductors.

It was an extension activity after completing the lesson on circuits.

The students tested the flow of current in a circuit by constructing the circuit using battery, bulb, wires and various components. They observed various results. Such as: water is an insulator and conducts electricity. They also tested with different materials and metals like copper, steel, aluminum, wood, plastic etc. The students conducted the experiment and had the discussion on their predictions and results. The students also discussed on the topic: What makes a conductor, and what makes an insulator?

The activity concluded with the discussion on the importance of the topic.

Math Activity  : Subtraction for Grade 2 :  Ice cream activity (2017-18)

The fun Maths activity on subtraction was conducted for Grade 2 on 9th November 2017.

Children love ice creams!!! When children of Grade 2 were asked to draw different ice cream of their colors and choice they dived into imagination creating their own ice creams using different colors in their book.

Children drew three layers –each layer showed a two digit number. The final layer showed the answer.

This activity helped them understand that the bigger number should be on the top while the smaller number below it.

This activity showed their creative skills and increased their logical thinking towards subtraction.

 Active learning environment at CIE Wing of KHGS (2017-18)
We use active learning techniques to engage students, and encourage innovation and creativity in the CIE wing.

In the month of November the innovative activity was designed for Grade 5 students in English class.  As a  part of the extension activity of ‘Instruction text’ , students used their creative skills and innovative ideas to design their own foot wears using recycle materials, wrote the instruction text and presented in from of their peers. They were also successful to name their innovative products using alliteration and assonance.

So, next time if you are planning to look for the latest designs for ‘Spring Shoes’, ‘House Flip-Flops’, ‘Morning Summer Shoes’, ‘Smart  Slippers’, ‘Spring Serenade slippers’ and ‘Anti Grip Slippers’ you need to meet our young designers!

Science Activity: Measuring the mass and weight of different objects using Spring Balance (2017-18)

This activity was designed for 5th Graders in the month of October.

Students recorded the results and calculated the mass and the weight of each object. Students learnt about weight by a spring scale and observed how it responds to objects with different masses. They were also able to understand that weight is a comparison of the force of gravity pulling on objects with different masses; they collected and analyzed data and made predictions from observed data.

Grade 1 Maths Activity : Shapes (2017-18)

Maths Activity on shapes was conducted on 18th September 2017 for Grade 1 students.   Each student was provided with a Butterfly kit on shapes. Students were able to identify different colourful shapes and sort them. They used their creative skills to make a desired shape with the smaller shapes.

The soft child friendly materials are used to design the shapes for the safety of the children.

Grade 1  and 2 Fancy Dress Competition (2017-18)

The Fancy dress competition was organized by Grade 1 and 2 students of our CIE wing on 21st August 2017 on the theme ‘Nature.’

The students were dressed in colourful attires as trees, flowers, insects, birds and even rainbows. Few tiny tots also used this opportunity to give the message on ‘Save water’ and ‘Save Trees’ and to protect the environment.

All the students took part in this competition enthusiastically.


Science Activity: Separation of solid substances from a mixture of solids (2017-18)

This activity was designed for 5th Grades in the month of August.

The students learnt these methods for separating solids from a mixture of solids:

  1. Handpicking: The students used this method to separate the pebbles, grains and insects from rice, wheat and pulses by handpicking.
  2. Sieving: Thee students used a sieve to separate the bigger particles as smaller ones pass through the sieve’s holes.. The students used this method to separate bran from flour and sand from gravel.
 Science Activity : Human Body Organs (2017-18)
This activity was designed for 5th Graders of CIE wing in the month of August. The individual students were provided with the special kits designed by Butterfly Edufields.

The activity kit also contained interesting visual chart and flash cards about different organs present in human body; a game to know the position and function of different organs and workbook having challenging puzzles on the organs.

With this hands-on kit, students entered the twisted world of the human body. Students learnt the working and position of our organs in the human body. By using this kit, students gained hands-on knowledge and achieve a clear visualisation of the different organs in our body and how they work.


Grade 1 & 2 : Collage Making Activity. (2017-18)
Collage Making Activity was organized by Grade 1 & 2 students in the start of this academic year.

The students used different craft materials to decorate the pictures given to them and later prepared colourful charts with these pictures.

The activity was used as an ice breaker and improved their motor skills.



 English Competitions: JAM and Extempore (2017-18)
CIE department of KHGS always thrives to improve English Communication skills amongst its students. With this intention in mind, the English competitions JAM and Extempore were held for the students of Grades 3-6 on Monday, 7th August 2017. The objective of the competition was to make the students confident and better orators so that they are trained to express their views without hesitation.

The participants delivered their speeches with great confidence and left no stone unturned in giving  to give in their best on the topics they received. The judges found it very difficult to select the winners. They were judged on the criteria of content, fluency, voice modulation and body language. The students showed great fervor and poise in their respective presentations.

 Maths Activity : Fraction Salad (2017-18)
The students of Grades 3-8 took part in an innovative ‘Fraction Salad activity’ in the month of the August.

The objective of this activity was to apply fractions in their daily life. This activity not only helped them to understand the difficult concept of fractions, but also improved their  motor skills and creativity.

The students of Grade 3 to 5 made Fraction Salad with fruits. They selected apple, orange, banana and pineapple and cut each fruits into 8 equal parts. Later all the cut fruits were  mixed in a bowl to make a mouth- watering Fraction Fruit Salad.

On the other hand, the students of Grades 6 to 8 used 1 cup shredded lattice, ½ cup of pomegranate, ¾ cup of diced cucumber slices and ¼ cup of boiled sweet corns and added different seasonings which tingled the taste buds of the tasters.

Italian Salads and Mexican Salads with tacos were a few among the many delectable creations of the students.

It was a very healthy way to learn fractions. The students came up with delicious salads and understood the concepts of fractions.

Inter House English Debate Competition (2017-18)
Debate is one of the academic activities that gives students creative room to express what they feel.

The Inter House English Debate Competition was held on 7th August 2017 where the students of Grades 7 & 8 enunciated their views on the topic “Uniforms should be mandatory.

The participants, armed with statistics and data, made their arguments more emphatic with their righteous facial expressions, body movement and gestures.  All the four teams exhibited great oratory skills but finally the two winning teams  were : Sapphire and Topaz. After the intense face off, The first position was bagged by Sapphire students.

This competition was adjudged by the senior staff members of CIE Wing-Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Shefali.

 Kennedy Talent Hunt Competition 2017-18
“Talent is something rare, beautiful and precious and it must not be allowed to go waste.”

In our school, we provide various opportunities to bring out the inert talents of the students. In order to provide the platform to the students to showcase their talent, Kennedy Talent Hunt Competition 2017-18 for Grade 3 to 8 was organized on 3rd July 2018.

The children were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in different categories like singing, dancing, instrumental music, magic and craft. The grace and confidence of the students amazed all the teachers. The panel of the judges had a tough time deciding on the best performances.

This event helped children to develop higher level of creativity, observation, concentration, self-expression and confidence along with creative and artistic skills.

Fresher’s Part (2017-18)

We kicked off   this academic year with Fresher’s week for Grades 1 & 2 on 16th June 2017, starting with the ‘Welcome Fun’ day at CIE.

Students enthusiastically took part in the activity and came well dressed. The children enjoyed dancing on the foot tapping numbers.  Even Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher were selected on the basis of their good oratory skills. For rest of the week, the fun activities were planned for the students.
